Eagles Sign Jordan Norwood to Practice Squad
September 23rd, 2009 | by joeb03 |On Tuesday, the St. Louis Rams snatched up Danny Amendola from the Eagles practice squad, leaving an opening for another player. Amendola, who was a star of last year’s HBO documentary “Hard Knocks” with the Dallas Cowboys, was an exciting player in Eagles camp. With the depth of wide receiver in Philadelphia, Amendola failed to crack the 53-man roster and was left exposed to other teams. Best of luck to the speedster.
To fill the void left by Amendola, the Eagles worked out and have now signed former Penn State wideout Jordan Norwood. As a Penn State fan, I watched Norwood exceed expectations in his four years as a Nittany Lion. He finished his collegiate career with 158 catches for 2,015 yards and 13 touchdowns. While it is highly unlikely that Norwood will crack the roster this year, he should be a player to watch should he stay with the organization.
