Regulars Back at Practice
October 7th, 2009 | by joeb03 |After a week off, the Eagles were back to work Monday in preparation for Sunday’s matchup against the 0-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team is happy to see the return of some familiar faces to the practice field.
Donovan McNabb is back after missing two games with a broken rib. He might have played in Week 4 if the Eagles did not have a bye, but the extra week will benefit McNabb tremendously. The Eagles passing attack is a good one, and there is no better man to run it than D-Mac. Happy to have him back in the saddle as the Eagles have some big games on the horizon. In this Sunday’s matchup, he should have no problem breaking off the rust against a bad Bucs defense.

Oft-injured running back Brian Westbrook is also full go in practice. The ankle injury is no longer an issue, and everyone is expecting Westy to get back to being Westy against Tampa. LeSean McCoy played very well in Week 3 relief duty, so he will continue to see action. The tandem effort could keep Westbrook fresh, and hopefully will limit his chance of injury.
Kevin Curtis is back at practice, looking to reclaim his job as starting wide receiver opposite DeSean Jackson. The knee injury that forced Curtis out of the Chiefs game has healed, but what has he done about his butterfingers? Jeremy Maclin will continue to cut into Curtis’s snaps, perhaps even getting another start this Sunday.
Trotter Ready
Last week, Trotter split his time between film study and private workouts with members of the Eagles practice squad. He had 10 days to get ready for NFL game action, and participated in his first full practice on Monday. Trotter’s body is responding well, and everyone seems confident that he can still contribute.
“I think any time you add a player like Trot, it’s a whole other dimension that offenses have to worry about,” said strongside linebacker Chris Gocong “We’ll be able to interchange people, be fresh, and match personnel.”
Vick to Star in Television Documentary
BET is working on a television series about Michael Vick, his battle with dogfighting, and his ultimate return to the NFL. Due out in early 2010, the show is tentatively called “The Michael Vick Project”, and will be an eight-part series.
